Hokm is a strategic game from Persia. It is played with four players and a deck of 52 cards. Two players build a team together and sit across from each other. The following are the game rules:
Cards in Hokm are ranked from highest to lowest: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2.
Suits: Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond
App-specific: In a classic game (best of 13), there are 100 points to win/lose, while in best of 5, only 20 points are at stake.
Summary:
At the beginning of the game, the King/Queen is randomly chosen (identified by his/her crown). He/she receives the first five cards and determines the trump suit (Hokm) for the big round.
The King/Queen starts the game by playing a card.
The other players play a card each (in a counterclockwise direction).
Players must play the same suit as the one played at the start of the small round. If a player doesnt have a card of that suit, he/she can cut the small round with a Hokm or pass with a different suit.
The player with the highest card wins and starts the next small round.
A big round is played until a team wins seven small rounds.
If the Kings/Queens team wins, the King/Queen remains unchanged; otherwise, the player to the left of the King/Queen (from the opponent team) is crowned the new King/Queen.
